1. Grammar and Spelling - Please try to use proper grammar and spelling when posting an In Character [IC] reply. Short, choppy sentences and multiple mis-spelled words make the over-all board look bad. If you find you have mis-spelled something, please take the time to go back and edit it. A few errors are okay, but please do your best.[/blockquote]
When posting Out Of Character [OOC] and in the C-box you may use short-hand. Just, make sure it is understandable, nothing like ICUTAASP [I'll see you tomorrow afternoon at soccer practice.] or anything like this. Well-known short-hand is preferred.
2. Complying with the Site Rating - As of now, this site is rated a mature PG-13. This means that we are dealing with sexual content and curse words while not going to such extremes as to go into graphic detail. However, you are welcome to roleplay through detail as such, as long as you mark the beginning of the topic title with a mature warning ( ie. [M] , MATURE, etc. ) Just don’t make it too much of a habit, it has to go with the actual relationships through the roleplay. This is NOT a porno.
3. Spamming and/or Trashing the Boards - Please do NOT spam these boards! If you want to advertise your site, do so in the advertisement board, not anywhere else! Spammers will be given up to three warnings and chanced for the decision of banishment. Admins will vote whether or not to ban members who aren't following the rules or listening to warnings.
Absolutely, positively do NOT trash this site. A bit of friendly criticism is welcome, but once you are constantly putting down Admins, Mods, Members, Characters, and other things that are connected to this site, you have gone way too far. Trashing will NEVER be welcome! If you have a problem with someone on this board or the way we run things, pick up your life and find a new site. If something as such happens, you WILL be reported to Proboards staff.
4. Hate Wars - Please, don't start Hate Wars with Mods, Admins, or even Members. If you are having a problem with a person of any group, send a PM to an admin, no one else. We will personally check out the problem and deal with it. I do not want to start a Conflict Mediator session, but I will if I have to. This site is for fun. We all want to be friends.
PMing Rules
1. Random Nothingness - Do NOT PM another member random nothingness, unless you’re really good friends and tend to do that at times. xP This counts a spam! And we all know how I hate spam. It sucks. So, DON'T DO IT! If you happen to receive a spam PM, immediately send it to an admin, and we'll take it from there. Please make sure you include the sender's name.[/blockquote]
2. Un-Authorized Linking and Advertising - THIS IS NOT ALLOWED!!! It ticks me off when I receive a mass-PM from a member on another site trying to persuade me to travel to the attached link. There have been enough viruses going around, and we do NOT want it happening on this site. Yes, I understand if you want to advertise a site you created, but this is why we made an ADVERTISEMENT BOARD. If you wish to advertise or affiliate your site, please go there.
However, if you have already done this, and still aren't getting a lot of traffic, please PM both of the admins with what you want to mass PM so we can accept it.
If you receive a PM that doesn't state that it's been approved by an admin, send it directly to the three of us. Make sure you include the sender's name.
C-box Rules
1. Apply ALL OOC Rules - Please, when you are posting in the c-box, apply ALL OOC rules stated above. If you don't, then you will be banned from said c-box for a specific amount of days, depending on what you broke.[/blockquote]
2. NO PUT-DOWNS OR TRASHING - This, I will not tolerate. AT ALL. If you do not like the admin staff, members, or the board. FIND A NEW SITE TO JOIN! I will NEVER tolerate put-downs or trash on the c-boxes. You will be automatically banned by your IP address FOREVER. I cannot stand when someone feels they must make un-necessary comments about a board and people that they don't even know. SO DON'T DO IT!
3. Linking over the c-box. - Yes, the c-box has a linking feature. Yes, you are allowed to link to your site and request for people to take a look, but NEVER.. NEVER will I allow random guests to link their name 'Click-me' to ANYTHING. This is for security purposes for all of the registered members. Do NOT advertise on the c-box continuously unless you are an active member of this board, or your ad has been accepted by an admin.
Rules for Creating a Character
1. Character Restrictions - Do not, and I repeat, do NOT copy characters from any books, stories, movies, TV shows, video games, or plot lines. These are considered blatant rip-offs. If one can point out obvious multiple alike traits, it's pretty obvious. The whole point of this role play site is for you to get your creative juices flowing and to make your mind work. Not to steal and re-play other people's ideas.[/blockquote]
2. Multiple Characters - On Lx3, you can have as many characters as you want. Just throw up another quicky-form describing how the character looks/acts and go ahead and roleplay. You only need one account on Lx3; please do not make a new account for each character.
Posting Rules
1. Power-Playing - NO POWER-PLAYING!!! Power-playing is when you control the actions of another person's character. Ie:[/blockquote]
"Jamie walked into the restaurant and saw Kerry sitting in a booth. Kerry waved, but Jamie just scoffed and turned away."
If you and another character have planned to go somewhere together, you may post them entering the topic too, but not to great detail. Ie:
"Trevor made his way down to the lake, turning his head to Susan every so often."
2. Killing off Characters - Do NOT kill off another person's character unless you have their consent. This is not fair to the person. Make sure you have discussed this between yourselves and the admins to make sure the plot is acceptable and to fine-tune all the ends.
3. God-Modding - No God-modding! God-modding is when you create a character that is invincible and/or knows everything. Do NOT make a character like this. All people have a weakness. Also watch the money levels. ``hello to HiGH and DRY;; Jump out there and be different. Have the first character who’s wearing hand-me-down robes from years ago! I’ll give you cookies for being different!
Roleplaying Rules
1. Roleplaying Style - The universal roleplay style for this site is Past Tense - Third Person. This means, that you MUST roleplay in third person. No 'I walked here, I called him' or '*slammed phone down* *jogs the path*' type of stuff. I feel this makes boards look trashy and childish. And frankly, I don't wish for our board to appear that way. Also, this is a fairly literate board. I’m not saying you must write an entire page for a reply, just no less than a good paragraph per post, eh?[/blockquote]
2. Speech - Speech can be indicated in many different ways, but I find myself indicating dialog with "quotations" or 'single bolded quotes'. If you have a style that you normally use, go ahead and use it. BUT make sure you can tell it apart from other forms of role playing, Ie: Actions and Thought.
3. Thought - Thought, like Speech, can also be indicated in a number of ways. I commonly use italics, 'italicized single quotes' or just 'single quotes'. Again, if you have your own way, feel free to use it, BUT again, it must be different from other forms.
Image Rules
1. Size - Please do NOT post an image larger than 590x590 pixels. Images over this size can stretch the boards and make the site look trashy.[/blockquote]
If you wish to show someone an image over this size, feel free to post a link or thumbnail to it.
2. Image Content - Images should NOT contain any form of nudity(sure, I'll let shirtless guys pass =P) or other offensive portrayal(including text on these images)
3. Stealing - If someone has created an image for you, don't claim it as your own. I'm not neccessarily stating that you must credit everything, just don't claim it as yours when it isn't ... know what I mean?
Graphic Rules
1. Copyright - Never ever ever steal an image from another person. EVER! This is 1) very rude and 2) against the law. Therefore, never claim that an image that isn't yours is. Common courtesy, people.[/blockquote]
2. Image Content/Size - See the 'Image Rules' section.
3. Requesting - If you have requested an image from one of the artists on Lx3, do not request the same thing from ten other users. Give the first artist a chance to create and post the image for you before you ask someone else to do it.
Building on this, do not trash an artist if it takes them a while to finish the graphic you have requested; making graphics takes TIME.
